An attempt to trademark the name `Obama bin Laden'

MIAMI A Florida man has been denied the right to trademark the name "Obama bin Laden."In rejecting the request, a U-S patent office lawyer says the name makes a false connection between Illinois senator and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and terror mastermind Osama bin Laden.
The lawyer says the applicant (Alexandre Batlle) would have to get permission from both the senator and the fugitive terrorist in order to have the tradmark approved.
The applicant says he came up with the idea to amuse his friends but is also making money with it, selling "Obama bin Laden" T-shirts and mugs on his Web site.
